Project Overview
The client, a tech entrepreneur, required a complete security overhaul for his hillside villa. The property featured multiple entry points, extensive gardens, and a rooftop terrace that were previously unprotected. Our team designed a custom surveillance solution combining high-resolution IP cameras with smart access control.
The project required discreet camera placement that would not detract from the architectural aesthetics while providing comprehensive coverage of all perimeter entry points and interior common areas.
Key Challenges
The villa's hillside location posed unique challenges for cable routing and wireless signal stability. The client insisted on zero visible cables and requested that all cameras blend with the exterior colour scheme. Additionally, the property's extensive grounds required long-range night vision coverage.
Power distribution was another consideration, as several camera locations were far from existing power sources. We opted for PoE cameras throughout to simplify cabling and ensure reliable power delivery over single Ethernet cables.
Products Used
The installation featured eight Hikvision 4K ColorVu IP cameras positioned at all entry points and along the perimeter wall. A Ring Video Doorbell Pro 2 was installed at the main gate for visitor identification. The system was powered by a Hikvision 8-channel NVR with 8TB storage, providing 30 days of continuous 4K recording.
A Ubiquiti UniFi Switch 24 PoE was deployed as the network backbone, ensuring stable power delivery to all cameras. The system was configured for remote access via Hik-Connect, allowing the client to monitor the property from anywhere in the world.
Final Outcome
The installation was completed within five days with zero visible cabling. The client now enjoys crystal-clear 4K surveillance with ColorVu night vision that captures full-colour footage even in near-total darkness. The smart doorbell integrates with the existing home automation system.
The villa's security score improved from minimal protection to comprehensive coverage. The client reported feeling significantly safer and has since recommended our services to three neighbours.
